Install the CLI
The MCP server is the easyi18n mcp command of the easyi18n CLI, so an agent
needs the CLI on the machine where its client runs. Pick the install that fits
your environment. All of them provide the same easyi18n command.
| Method | Needs | Available |
|---|---|---|
npx or npm install -g | Node.js 18 or later | With CLI 0.13.0 |
| Binary installer | macOS, Linux x64, or Windows x64 with Git Bash | CLI 0.12.0 |
| Download a binary | macOS, Linux x64 or Windows x64 | CLI 0.12.0 |
dart pub global activate | Dart 3.9 or later | CLI 0.12.0 |
Check the result with easyi18n --version. An MCP client runs the server with
the same command followed by mcp.
npm
The npm package @easyi18n.com/cli is published with CLI 0.13.0. Clients can
start the server without installing anything first:
npx -y @easyi18n.com/cli@0.13.0-rc.6 mcp
To have the easyi18n command in your shell:
npm install -g @easyi18n.com/cli
easyi18n --help
The package installs a prebuilt binary for your platform, downloaded from the
matching release and verified against the release's SHA256SUMS. With
--ignore-scripts, or under pnpm's default of not running dependency scripts,
it downloads the binary on the first run instead.
Binary installer
curl -fsSL https://github.com/liontude/easyi18n-dart/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh
The script picks the binary for your platform, verifies it against
SHA256SUMS, checks that it runs, and installs it to ~/.local/bin. It prints
a reminder when that directory is not on your PATH.
| Variable | Effect |
|---|---|
EASYI18N_VERSION | Install a specific release, such as 0.12.0, instead of the latest. |
EASYI18N_INSTALL_DIR | Install somewhere other than ~/.local/bin. |
EASYI18N_RELEASES_URL | Download from a mirror of the releases page, such as an internal one. The npm package reads it too. |
On Windows, run it from Git Bash; it installs easyi18n.exe.
Download a binary
Each CLI release carries
easyi18n-macos-arm64, easyi18n-macos-x64, easyi18n-linux-x64 and
easyi18n-windows-x64.exe, with their checksums in SHA256SUMS. Verify the
file before running it:
shasum -a 256 easyi18n-macos-arm64
grep easyi18n-macos-arm64 SHA256SUMS
Rename it to easyi18n (or easyi18n.exe), make it executable, and put it on
your PATH.
Dart
dart pub global activate easyi18n_cli
easyi18n --version
Dart's global executable directory has to be on your PATH. A client can also
start the server with dart pub global run easyi18n_cli:easyi18n mcp, which
does not depend on PATH. On another platform than the four with binaries,
this is the install to use.
Updating
Run the binary installer, npm install -g or dart pub global activate
again. The Claude Code plugin is pinned to one CLI version and downloads that
version itself, as described in Claude Code plugin.
